New York State address structures are so confusing because “city” can basically mean a city, town, village, borough, or postal locality depending on where you are. Then NYC has five boroughs, the Bronx is officially the Bronx, Queens has its own numbering system, and none of it fits neatly into the standard street → city → state → ZIP model. Migrated Catalog API authentication from NextAuth's JWE shared-secret decryption (a kind of reverse engineered hack) to Better Auth's JWKS public-key verification. The auth change itself was straightforward, but the real complexity was coordinating the configuration across multiple services and multiple environments, each with different network topologies where the same service has different URLs depending on who's talking to it. :( https://better-auth.com/

The hard problem isn't building the UI. It's designing the right UX, then choosing the right UI technology to realize it. As the backend work is mostly finalized, my anxiety about designing the best UX is actually increasing. :(
